Review
Do you love drama? If so, you will be sure to love this film. Here we have a beautiful singer and dancer who has become an actress matched with a crown prince playboy monarch who become involved in a clandestine romance. Unfortunately, their romance is interfered with by their changing circumstances.
This is a lighthearted romantic, musical comedy with great musical moments. Unlike many romantic comedies this film is a classic that will surely be one you will love to see again and again. Starring Lana Turner and Ezio Pinza, who have excellent chemistry together, this is a film filled with romance and beautiful music. Great costumes, sets and backgrounds add to the overall atmosphere of this film. Other notables in the film include appearances by Debbie Reynolds and Sir Cedric Hardwicke.
With great stars, wonderful acting, beautiful scenery and a very romantic storyline this is a film you definitely will not want to miss.

Title - Project Kill Starring - Leslie Nielsen, Gary Lockwood, Nancy Kwan, Vic Silayan, Vic Diaz Directed by - William Girdler Producer(s) - Fred C. Soriano, Jr. Screenwriter(s) - Donald G. Thompson, David Sheldon
Review
This is an excellent film you will be sure to enjoy again and again. John Trevor (Leslie Nielsen) has escaped from a military base where he commanded a special project: Project Kill.
This project is a mind control experiment that utilizes drugs to create assassins and bodyguards for the United States. Eventually Trevor makes his way to the Philippines and falls in love with Lee Su. Unfortunately he is feeling the withdrawal pains of the mind control drugs and turns out to be quite dangerous to himself as well as anyone who is around him. His former second in command, agent Frank Lassiter (played by Gary Lockwood), has since been ordered to find him before the withdrawal effects result in him becoming too violent as well as before he gives out too much information about the program.
An Asian mobster, Alok Lee, is also after Trevor. He is hoping to gain control of the secrets of Project Kill. As the withdrawal symptoms become worse, Trevor is running out of time and Lassiter, the police in the Philippines and the mobsters are all closing in on him. Will he be able to escape once again? Will he sell out the secrets of the program?
Numerous twists and turns make this movie extremely interesting, keeping you riveted to the edge of your seat right up until the very last moment.
(Webmaster note - - As I watched this movie, I kept wondering, is Leslie Nielsen wearing a "piece"? Check out the reviews at IMDB on this movie. Find the one that says "..the worst movie I have ever watched ten times..." I thought it was a pretty funny review. After you read the reviews, you will want to get this movie just to see if it is really as bad as everyone seems to think. Their current review on the main page is amazingly pretty favorable.)

Review
If you love dramatic films you will be thrilled with this movie. The film begins with Tony, a mob loan collector, who finds that he is no longer satisfied with his life. He dreams of striking it rich one day but must face the reality of his dead end job. Eventually he meets up with another mob enforcer, Napoli, who has been terminated from his employment with the mob. Together, the two devise a plan to con a mob boss out of some money so that they can spend the rest of their lives in the lap of luxury and retire. Of course, things aren’t always quite so simple and the mob boss, Manzari, isn’t about to let go of his money quite so quickly.
Jack Palance stars in this excellently produced film. Palance presents a character that is both imposing and sinister. Edgy, with twists and turns, this film will keep you teetering on the edge of your seat right up until the exciting climax. Viewers will be delighted by the dynamic direction of the film along with a score that is quite eclectic.
The movie is not without its comedic relief moments, adding the perfect touch to a film that defines drama. This is a powerful film, presenting true to life elements from a real Italian ghetto, that you won’t want to miss.

Title - Till the Clouds Roll By Starring - June Allyson, Robert Walker, Lucille Bremer, Tony Martin, Dinah Shore, Judy Garland, Van Johnson, Van Heflin, Kathryn Grayson, Lena Horne, Frank Sinatra Directed by - Richard Whorf Producer(s) - Arthur Freed Screenwriter(s) - Myles Connolly, Jean Holloway
Review
This wonderful film features renditions of famous songs from the American Broadway pioneer Jerome Kern’s musical plays including a condensed production of his most famous piece, “Showboat.” In fact, the film actually opens with a somewhat lengthy montage from “Showboat,” which has often been considered to be Kern’s most innovative piece.
Film fans who enjoy Technicolor and musicals will fall in love with this film. The musical numbers are handled very well and overall it provides excellent entertainment for 40’s musical film buffs.
Interestingly, Kern died while the film was still in pre-production with MGM. As a result, in order to avoid any type of legal issues, the original version of the film was scrapped and a lighter bio-pic than was originally considered resulted. Still, the film is a masterpiece in its own right. Leading man Robert Walker and co-star Van Heflin provide excellent characterizations in order to keep the somewhat sentimental story moving right along while the musical numbers provide great entertainment.
Stars such as Lena Horne, Virginia O’Brien, June Allyson, Angela Lansburgy, Dinah Shore, Frank Sinatra, Gower Champion, Cyd Charisse and Katheryn Grayson round out the all-star cast. Judy Garland also treats the audience to an extended cameo when she performs “Look For The Silver Lining.” Lucille Bremer, who portrays the role of Robert Walker’s ward, provides a notable performance as well, performing a duet with Van Johnson of “I Won’t Dance.”
This is a film that should belong in the collection of every musical lover.
